About

I am an ICT teacher at United World College of South East Asia (East Campus). Originally from NZ, I have been teaching overseas since 2001.

Tip of the Iceberg is a place for me to try and get beyond a tokenistic approach to ICT teaching. I want to make meaningful connections for my students and help them become effective collaborators, communicators and creators, with a commitment to social responsibility.

Tip of the Iceberg is also a place for me to reflect on my learning in ICT, a dumping ground for miscellaneous thoughts and a place to share my favourite links.

The views expressed are my own, and not those of my employer. All mistakes are definitely my own!

I am klbeasley on Twitter, so please look me up.

    Hi Keri Lynne,
I met you a few years ago at Nicole Tripp’s pool – I was visiting from Beijing, and used to teach at CIS. Also went to EARCOS with your husband! A friend at ISKL referred me to your blog as my current school (a private girls school in Toronto) is looking at piloting one-to-one iPod touches in Grade 5 next year. I’m looking forward to exploring your blog — what I’ve read so far is great — and hearing about how you’re using them at UWC! I may bug you for some Grade 5 specific ideas, too!
Hope all is well in The Pore,
    Christine
