Hi Julie,

I think it would be very challenging, given their age. I tend to recommend small group work, rather than whole class work at that age.

Hope this helps!

Been following your blog for awhile. You might remember me I worked supply at AMK campus and met you last year. I was about to accept a job teaching ICT here in Chile and came to pick your brain about a few things. I have a question for you...I am teaching year 1 and 2 kids with very little english base and no previous ICT exposure. Anyway, would you say it is possible in a 30min. session a week to teach them effectively WITHOUT a teaching assistant? Just want to know what your experience is.. Thanks.

Hi Keri Lynne,
I met you a few years ago at Nicole Tripp's pool - I was visiting from Beijing, and used to teach at CIS. Also went to EARCOS with your husband! A friend at ISKL referred me to your blog as my current school (a private girls school in Toronto) is looking at piloting one-to-one iPod touches in Grade 5 next year. I'm looking forward to exploring your blog -- what I've read so far is great -- and hearing about how you're using them at UWC! I may bug you for some Grade 5 specific ideas, too!
Hope all is well in The Pore,
Christine
